273 new servers added in March
It is great to announce that many clients have chosen us as their hosting partner. We are really focussed on delivering a reliable, high performing service with great support, and delighting our clients. We are pleased to see that we continue to be selected amongst strong competition from our peers in the industry, and we can announce that we added a further 273 servers during March 2012, our highest total yet. Thanks to our clients for all their support!
New Data Centre Locations
Things have been really busy here at the iCloudHosting office, so much so that we've not updated our website recently to mention the additional locations we added our cloud platform to last year. We have seen considerable demand for our service, and so have built the same high-availability cloud stack that we offer in two new locations - UK Midlands, and US East Coast. These sites have had quite an inrush of new services, and so we have only just put them on our website. All our sites continue the same Tier 4 aligned specification as our clients are used to, and we own and maintain the entire cloud stack - from network to servers to storage. At iCloudHosting, we continually analyse how our technical support has been performing. We're pretty proud of the level and responsiveness of support we offer, and we've recently finished compiling the statistics for 2011. We thought it would be worth letting our customers see the gory details of how things have been doing, so we've decided to release the statistics. 2011 will be seen as the year that cloud took its popularity mainstream. We had a great year, with many new customer wins and technological advancements. New Locations Coming Soon
We've seen an increase in the rate of uptake of our services in the last few months, as more companies move to the cloud. One of the questions being asked of us recently is what other locations we can support, apart from our London North site. We've been working away on adding more locations in the background for some time, and can announce that two new sites will be going live in the next month. These two sites will be Midlands, UK and East Coast, US. These sites match the same high specification that our clients are used to with tier 4 aligned UPS power feeds, and we're continuing our ethos of owning and maintaining all our equipment at the sites, as well as running our own network. Nexenta prove their worth over Netapp and EMC
At VMworld 2011's recent Hands On Lab, Nexenta was in a shoot out with Netapp and EMC, coming out on top. We adopt the same hardware as Nexenta used for our SANs, delivering on our promise of best-in-class performance. The shootout involved 9.7 billion NFS operations and 131 TB of traffic, with over 140,000 cloud machines created in four days. Our strategy at iCloudHosting has always been to use a number of sensibly-sized SANs instead of one monolithic SAN. This way we hit the fault tolerance and scalability required by our customers, without becoming over-dependent on one hardware supplier. And as these tests show, we can hit any performance required!
